Sundown

We had an adventure filled day, saw many amazing sights and animals,
hiked some very steep and sandy trails.
We were supposed to get all the way through Utah today, but only made
it halfway. We have a lot of ground to make up tomorrow.

Bryce Canyon

Inspiration point

Red Canyon

Wild bison?

Oh give me a home

Where the the buffalo roam (bison)

Between Zion and Bryce Canyon

Could the car get more full?

Wow!

This is what we came here for!

Tunnel

See that hole waaaayyy up in the middle of that sheer rock wall? That
is the mile-long tunnel we are supposed to be going through in a
couple if minutes.

Virgin River runs through the valley of Zion

Cooling off after the hike.

Sun worshiper

On the way down the trail we spotted a friendly rattlesnake sunning
itself right next to the trail. A little too close for comfort in my
opinion, but Steve and the girls ventured a closer look. The visitor
center info said it is very rare to see one. Lucky us!

Weeping rock

Catching some sprinkles

Weeping rock

Nature's very own mister system.

On the way in

Giant ants

Took a minute to look at giant ants while Steve runs back into the
hotel to find his phone;)

Morning

Sunrise over the canyons

Yum yum!!

Real continental breakfast

Make your own waffles, cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, muffins,
Danishes, toast, English muffins, boiled eggs, juice, milk, coffee,
tea, cocoa.
Wow!

Fancy schmanzy

Last weekend we stayed in a fancy hotel in downtown San Jose which
cost way more than it was worth + we had to pay for valet parking in
addition to the cost of the room and we only got 15 cable channels and
no free wi-fi & no free food. As opposed to tonight we are staying in
a Comfort Inn for $55 (way less than San Jose) and we get a pool
(almost completely to ourselves), free wifi, 91 cable channels and
continental breakfast.
By the way, have you ever noticed how kids can do 20+ bellyflops in a
row and it doesn't even phase them?

Entering Zion National Park

Looks like we're going to drive right into a rock wall.

Sin city

Just passing by this trip

Lots of new construction
